The Story Behind the Blends

My interest in holistic healing and energy work grew out of my own life experiences. I’ve always been a deeply feeling person—an empath who naturally picks up on the energy and emotions around me. Over time I came to understand that sensitivity can be both a challenge and a gift. It often meant sensing what was happening beneath the surface in people and situations, while also having a natural tendency to see the good in others—sometimes at the expense of my own well- being.  Learning to balance compassion with discernment, and to protect my own boundaries while still leading with kindness, became one of the most important lessons of my life.

I’m also a mother raising my children largely on my own, which has shaped the way I move through the world. Through loss, mistakes, and difficult seasons, I finally came to a realization that shifted my perspective- that nobody is coming to rescue us-  At some point we all have to learn how to care for ourselves, find the lessons, and  learn to move through pain, guilt and other difficult emotions and continue to find meaning and beauty even when life feels heavy.

Holistic healing, self-care, and reconnecting with my own body became the way I learned to do that. Slowing down, working with herbs, and creating small rituals of care helped me understand that healing often begins by simply listening to ourselves again. The more I explored herbal traditions and plant medicine, the more excited I got about creating my own blends—formulas designed to support grounding, emotional balance, renewal, and calm.

As a nurse, I believe deeply in caring for the body through both knowledge and science. But I’ve also witnessed how remarkable the human body is at restoring itself when given the right support. These blends reflect that belief. They are meant to create small moments where we slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and remember how resilient the body and spirit truly are.

Astral Art Studio + Apothecary grew from that place—part creativity, part herbal study, and part personal journey. My hope is that these blends help others pause, breathe, and rediscover the beauty that  exists within themselves and the world around them.
